Sources
Give Jake facts it can cite — product docs, policies, and procedures
Sources
TL;DR: Open Settings → Jake → Sources. Add a website or upload a document. Wait until it's ready. Test that Jake cites it correctly.
Sources are evidence — the facts Jake draws from. They're not instructions (those go in Behavior).
Add a source
- Website: Add a help-centre URL. Jake crawls and indexes it. Use sync later to catch updates.
- Upload: PDF, DOCX, Markdown, HTML, JSON, XML, or plain text.
Each source shows: ready, syncing, or failed.
Good sources
- Small and authoritative (a focused FAQ beats a full site archive)
- No secrets, credentials, or private customer data
- Explicit dates, eligibility rules, and exceptions
- Updated when policy changes
Verify it works
- Ask a question the source answers → Jake should respond with evidence
- Ask a question no source covers → Jake should not invent an answer
